A Craftsman is the individual at the helm of an airship. The term is not used for other types of craft, eg. autocabs or skyfighters.
The position is considered one of special respect and responsibility, as the one with the hand on the wheel, so to speak.
Note: although formed as a condensing of "The Craft's Man", it has potential ambiguity with someone who practices a skilled form of labour. As such, vocations such as carpentry and potter are known as Artisans.
