Longpulse is the primary method of long-distance wireless communication. It has near unlimited range, but messages can only be sent in the form of ponderous binary signals, so Longpulse is used for writing telegrams as opposed to transmitting quick battle manoeuvres. It is unclear how Longpulse works exactly, but it's believed to be based on a sub-spacial transmission medium.
Longpulse was pioneered by the Maroni.
