The Maroni people are a human sub-species, incompatible genetically, known as the pioneers of the mysterious communication technology of Transpulse. They are boney, almost skeletal beings and have a shorter life expectancy than the norm, but much higher intelligence. They all bear the middle name Maroni as they consider themselves a kind of family. Male names always end in 'us' while females in 'is'; although they are almost always referred to with their last name, which is the one given after birth based on the traits of the child.
The native language of the Maroni is Marakeese. Most Maroni that are seen outside of Azrune (a rarity thought it may be) have also learned to speak Azbuka.
