New Age Technology
Technology that is termed New Age is that which has been developed since the Collapse; ie. post-Gold Age developments. Due to the turmoil of the world at that time, "New Age" technology is built on altogether different underlying methods and practices than comparible devices from the Gold Age. As such, it has a distinctive look that marks it out from its counterpart. The common gold & colourful style from which the Gold Age takes its name is rather absent. New Age devices are characterised by use of physical mechanisms over electronics (the secrets of overcoming Azimuth's electromagnetic noise were forgotten with the Gold Age), rudimentary devices and basic information display and storage methods like paper and analogue gauges.
New Age technology is pioneered in places like Risley, Comerl and Aubertz. It should be noted that, despite regaining a working knowledge of most everyday science and technology, modern engineers are still a long way from attaining the wonders of Azrune's apex.
