Stefan Sputkov, or "Sput", is a young man from Laronor who works at the same Empire Arms munitions factory as Jerra Lightlock.

Sput becomes friends with Hennie after she stands against the local alley rat and bully Isabella Mortan. He is a member of the local regiment, pursuading Hennie to join the Reserves. His station is the Gundar, and he's present during the defence of the installation against the Ganzabi in the Battle of Laronor.
