Stefan 'Sput' Sputkov is a young man from Laronor who works at the same munitions factory as Jerra Lennock. Sput becomes friends with Hennie after she stands against the local alley rat and bully Isabella Morton. Sput is a member of the local regiment of the Laronor Reserves, and pursuades Hennie to join them. His station is the Gundar; thus he is present during the defence of the installation against the Ganzabi in the Battle of Laronor.
